Language Translation

OpenERP is multilingual by nature. Translate to new language is easy and intuitive. Following explain how,

Installing new Translation

  • As Admin, go to > Menu > Settings > Translations > Load a Translation
  • Select preferred language, i.e., Thai / ภาษาไทย.
  • Click Load button. This will load translation for all modules already installed. If not translated, it will also load, but with no translation.
  • Now, you will see new language in Languages window.

Import a Translation file

If we have a specific translation file to load,

  • As Admin, go to > Menu > Settings > Translations > Import / Export > Import Translation
  • Fill in parameters, i.e.,
    • Language Name: Thai / ภาษาไทย
    • Code: th_TH
    • File: select th.csv

Do the translation

  • All translated terms (or untranslated terms) is located at > Menu > Settings > Translations > Application Terms > Translated Term. User can directly translate or correct any translated word as required directly here.

Export translation

If we want to export the existing translated terms to a file (so that we may correct it outside before importing in again)

  • As Admin, go to > Menu > Settings > Translations > Import / Export > Export Translation
  • Fill in parameters, i.e.,
    • Language: Thai / ภาษาไทย
    • File format: CSV / PO / TGZ
    • Module: IMP (if left blank, all module translation will be exported)
